Bees & Refugees x Gramafilm:
Honey, I'm Home!
Ali Alzein founded Bees and Refugees, we visited his beekeeping farm, spotlighting the remarkable human story behind this organisation. Natalie (the project's creative) and myself (producer), felt it was important to also capture the human stories behind the organisation while also tackling wider societal perceptions of refugees and asylum seekers. We thought cooking would be a great way to open up dialogue about the presenters’ experiences; promoting Bees and Refugees’ sustainable honey while discussing the cultural and generational significance of food throughout their lives.
We interviewed Bees & Refugees members, talking about meals & memories of home. These meals were then featured in standalone recipe videos. There's always going to be a memory behind a recipe.
